Organisation also allows us to honour God with our time and efforts. 1 Corinthians 14:40 reminds us, “But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.”
By structuring our day and categorising our responsibilities, we align ourselves with God’s principles, ensuring we serve Him and others with excellence.
Being organised doesn’t mean striving for perfection; rather, it means creating a clear plan that helps us achieve balance. Whether we’re managing work, family, church, or personal growth, effective organisation keeps us grounded and focused on our ultimate purpose.
It allows us to dedicate time for prayer, Bible study, and self-care while still being productive in our everyday tasks.

When it comes to organising your life into categories, it’s important to create systems to that reflect the key areas.
Here are some important categories to consider:
Faith and Spiritual Growth:
Our relationship with God should be at the heart of everything we do. Dedicate time to prayer, Bible study, and personal devotion.
This category helps you prioritise your spiritual growth and ensures you’re regularly nurturing your faith.
Family and Relationships:
Whether you’re a wife, mother, daughter, or sister, family life is often central to our day-to-day. Organising your time for family ensures that you’re nurturing these relationships while also setting healthy boundaries to avoid burnout.
Work and Career:
For many of us, work takes up a significant portion of our day.
This category allows you to focus on your career, set goals, and manage your workload efficiently while keeping God at the centre of your professional life.
Health and Wellness:
Taking care of your physical and mental health is an absolute must.
This category could include exercise, meal planning, self-care routines, and mental wellness activities that help you stay strong and energised.
Finances:

Now that we’ve covered some categories we can use to get our life organised, it’s time to look at the “how”. Learning how to organise your life into categories doesn’t have to feel like it’s too much.
Here’s how you can easily and effectively categorise your life:
Identify Your Core Categories:
Start by making a list of the key areas of your life that really need your attention. Based on the categories I outlined earlier, these might include Faith, Family, Work, Health, and Finances.
Think about what’s most important to you and ensure those areas are reflected in your categories.
Assign Specific Tasks to Each Category:
Once you’ve established your main categories, assign specific tasks or responsibilities to each one. For example, under “Faith,” you might include morning devotions, prayer time, and Bible study.
For “Work,” it could be deadlines, meetings, and career goals. This step will help you break down your life into more manageable parts so that nothing is neglected.
Use Planners or Apps to Organise Your Life:
To stay organised, consider using a planner, digital calendar, or app to track your tasks in each category.
Colour-coding or labelling categories in your planner can help you easily distinguish between them. Regularly update and check your categories to make sure you keep on top of your commitments.
